Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Conscious Space event in Barangaroo. It was a wonderful marketplace event with a blend of home, fashion, food, environmentally and socially progressive brands. I could have spent all weekend going through all of the different stalls, trying all the delicious food and drinks. Below I’ve rounded up a couple of my favourite stalls.
Reso & Co. is a beautiful custom based furniture and homewares, fabrication and for hire studio base brand based in Marrickville. They believe in designing pieces that are more than just aesthetics, they design their range to last a life time and tell a story of their own. At the Conscious Space event their stall featured pieces from their homewares range which are all made of timber off-cuts.
Next of Kin Handmade is made up of mother-daughter duo who design and make pottery. They created the brand to spread messages of ‘slowing down, appreciating the little things and creating your own little moments of beauty within the often-overlooked mundane activities of daily life, like your morning coffee.’ Last weekend they showcased a bespoke and curated range of cups, plates, mugs and vases – I was completely in love with all of the pieces and they have possibly the best branding I've ever seen!
Little Known Makers source and collaborate with artisans and designers from Mauritius. They draw their inspiration from nature, the people, and local materials. Their collection is also made plant based materials, natural dyes, using a ‘slow fashion’ approach to each of their pieces. At the Conscious Space event they presented a gorgeous, artisanal range of rugs and woven pieces.
SVPlace is a photography studio that work with a broad range of clients shooting products, people, events, architecture, automotive, and landscapes. Their work has a unique perspective and invokes energy and life. I could have purchased all of their prints!
About Amelia //
Hi there! My name is Amelia, I am the creative director and owner of Semper Interiors. I created Semper Interiors after working in hospitality studios for many years, during that time I found myself feeling increasingly guilty about the waste created throughout each project. I wanted to be able to design and create spaces that have a minimal impact on our beautiful earth. My approach to sustainability is based around ensuring my projects have longevity in both quality and aesthetic, supporting local trades, artisans and suppliers and using natural materials.
